My husband and I used to do our banking here. We never dealt with the trust department but it changed about 15 years ago. It used to be a nice community bank.

I watched Rick Block brag about having "free reign over the old man's half a million" before the senior gentleman I cared for even deposited his money into a trust account at Devon Bank. Then Rick talked about all the people he owed jobs to using my Seniors money, then hired those people and there is nothing you can do about it. Think about that before you deposit yours. Devon Bank will waste your money by hiring their friends, slandering you, your family so they can get free reign over your entire estate and person - the heirs inherit nothing when they're through. Not only that, the elder law attorney's say that Devon Bank owes them - they have a lot of debts to pay - don't be one of their victims.

I have a major complaint about Devon Bank. My mother opened her "money market" account at Devon Bank 15 years ago. Recently her account went below the $2,500 balance and they started charging her $20.00/month. The online system says that they converted it to a checking account which doesn't have any fees. When I pointed this out to them they wouldn't refund the $80.00 fee they have charged for the last 4 months.

They are a small bank and I thought they would be sympathetic to seniors

I like this bank. This bank has only a few places where it is at but I think this is the best one so far. This one is big and there are many people working here. There are very nice people that work here who speak a few different languages too so it is easier to talk with them. They also have loan plans in addition to their checking and savings account plans. I like this bank very much because they are very nice to me and they take care of everything really good.

Devon bank locker system is very bad very bad experience, if suppose you are the main owner of locker if you have added somebody then you are doing mistake, because when the added person go there to open an locker then the people at bank dont ask for main owner permission or any kind of proof. Very bad experience.

Has anyone dealt with Devon Bank? They are out of Chicago. I have a buyer using them on one of my flips.

They have disclosed that the bank will buy the property and then sell it to them, so the buyer assigns the contract to the bank and then the bank sells them back the house. It appears it is a Freddie or Fannie product. They is still use a third party appraisal and the loan is eventually sold to Freddie or Fannie.

Has anyone seen this type of loan yet?

Well, it seems I'm not the only one complaining about the trust department, this was posted on 2/7/13 on Yelp.

Dreadful service!! I am acquainted with them since they "managed" a guardianship for me. A piece of real estate was involved in the guardianship estate. Anyone of remote relations were allowed unlimited and unsupervised access. Things were lost or stolen from the home thanks to Devon Bank. Their people are extremely nasty and unprofessional. They collected funds associated with an annuity. When the annuity was moved to another bank they inappropriatly withheld funds associated with the annuity. They were challenged and never made good on this. Unless it's the simplest of transaction, utilizing their services is probably ill advised.
